Monthly Scuba Class - One-on-One Training

Looking to get serious about your scuba skills? This monthly in-person class with Ananya Fishing gives you dedicated one-on-one time to really dial in your technique. Whether you're working toward your next certification or just want to stay sharp between dive trips, having a full session focused entirely on your progress makes all the difference. We keep it intimate with just one student per class, so you get personalized attention that group sessions just can't match. Perfect for busy divers who want consistent training without the scheduling chaos of larger programs.

Beneath the Surface

This isn't your typical rush-through-the-basics kind of deal. With monthly sessions, we can actually build on what you learned last time and tackle the skills that need work. Maybe your buoyancy control needs fine-tuning, or you want to nail that perfect fin kick technique. Whatever your goals, having regular check-ins means we catch bad habits before they stick and celebrate the wins as they happen. The one-on-one format lets us move at your pace - if you're crushing the skills, we push harder. If something's giving you trouble, we slow down and break it apart until it clicks. Each session runs about two hours, giving us plenty of time to cover theory, practice in controlled conditions, and debrief what worked and what didn't. You'll leave each class with clear homework and goals for the next month, keeping your progress steady and measurable.

Dive Brief & Gear Info

We start every session with a proper briefing tailored to what you're working on that day. Could be reviewing dive tables if you're going for advanced open water, or maybe we're focusing on emergency procedures for rescue diver training. The beauty of monthly classes is we can spend real time on the technical stuff without feeling rushed. Gear-wise, we provide all the basics - mask, fins, snorkel, BCD, regulator, wetsuit, and tanks. But honestly, if you've got your own mask and fins, bring them. Getting comfortable with your personal gear is part of becoming a confident diver. We'll cover proper pre-dive safety checks every single time because muscle memory matters when you're 60 feet down. Equipment maintenance is also part of the curriculum - you'll learn to spot worn O-rings, test your regulator properly, and understand why your BCD inflator sometimes gets sticky. These aren't glamorous skills, but they're the ones that keep you safe and confident on every dive.

Marine Life You'll See

While this is primarily a skills-focused class rather than a sightseeing dive, we do incorporate marine life awareness into every session. Understanding fish behavior actually makes you a better diver - knowing that sudden movements spook most species helps reinforce proper buoyancy and movement techniques. We'll often encounter local reef fish during training dives, and learning to observe without disturbing them is a key skill. Parrotfish are common in many training areas and they're perfect for practicing approach techniques since they're generally tolerant but will move away if you're too aggressive with your movements. Angelfish and butterflyfish are also regulars, and their tendency to stay close to coral formations makes them great subjects for practicing hovering skills while maintaining safe distances from the reef. Sea turtles occasionally show up during sessions, and if we're lucky enough to spot one, it becomes a real-time lesson in respectful wildlife interaction. These encounters aren't guaranteed since we're focusing on education rather than wildlife tours, but they add natural excitement to skill development and help reinforce why proper diving techniques matter for marine conservation.

Plan Your Next Dive

Monthly training sessions are game-changers for divers who want to stay current and keep improving. Most people get certified, do a few vacation dives, then show up rusty for their next trip wondering why everything feels harder than it should. Regular practice keeps those skills fresh and builds the kind of confidence that makes diving fun instead of stressful. With just one spot available each month, you get instruction that's completely customized to your experience level and goals. Whether you're brand new to diving or working toward divemaster, consistent monthly training will get you there faster and safer than cramming everything into intensive weekend courses. Plus, having that regular commitment means you actually prioritize your diving education instead of letting it slide for months at a time. Ready to make this the year you really level up your diving? Let's get you signed up and start building the skills that'll make every future dive better than the last.
